Chelsea’s Kenneth Omeruo has dropped a huge hint that he could be set to make a move to Leeds United during this transfer by commenting on the club’s new loan signing Jamal Blackman’s Instagram of the player at Leeds United with the comment “wait for me”.
Omeruo is a talented defender and has spent time away from Chelsea on several loan spells in recent years, including somebody time with Middlesbrough.
The centre-back has made 40 appearances for Nigeria’s international side and featured most recently in the World Cup in Russia for the African nation, who nearly progressed to the knockout stages but lost out by a late goal from Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo.
Omeruo would be an excellent acquisition for Leeds United if he was to make a move to West Yorkshire and given the fact that the defender has experience at the highest level, he’d be the sort of strong statement of intention Marcelo Bielsa has been looking to put out ahead of the forthcoming Championship season.
Leeds United have been suggesting for quite some time that the club have had some transfer targets in mind, but have been waiting for the World Cup to come to an no so they can bring in some new players to the club.
Given the fact that the West Yorkshire club have recently recruited Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman from Chelsea, a loan deal for Omeruo could certainly be possible and would give Leeds United fans the hope and confidence they’ve been waiting for in the transfer market.
