Leeds United owner looks to ‘invest’ in Italian club – fans react

According to Italian source ANSA, Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has continued to spread his wings when it comes to investment outside of the Whites.

Of course the big portfolio that Radrizzani has is his ownership of Leeds United, an ownership that some say has seen him invest £100 million into the Whites.

However, and away from Leeds United, Radrizzani has continued to develop other of his avenues. Of these avenues he has focused on the matter of acquiring media rights and currently hold the rights to screening La Liga and Serie A games in the United Kingdom.

Now ANSA say that the Leeds United owner is ready to step in and avert the crisis facing Italian club Bari. Back in May Bari were facing accusations of irregular payments that threatened to have them docked two points, a situation that would have seen them drop below Citadella – thus granting the latter home advantage.

The play-offs were put back a week, Bari were deducted the two points and eventually were eliminated at the first game stage – with Bari finishing extra-time with just eight men on the pitch.

However, this is not thought to have put Radrizzani off with ANSA who say that “the moment of truth in the Bari crisis” could be solved by the Leeds United owner to the tune of €3 million which they say is “indispensable for completing the registration procedures for the Serie B Championship.

This news has gotten a few Leeds United fan commenting on Twitter, as you’d expect of Whites fans given their social media activity.

Whilst it is only a small number of Leeds fans commenting, there is a definite concern amongst these three. This is a concern chiefly borne out of a lack of transfer activity at Elland Road; activity where much interest has been stated but no players have arrived.

Should this scenario continue, expect there to be many more Leeds United fans commenting on Twitter.
