Leeds could hand debuts to four new signings on Tuesday at Forest Green

Leeds United will most probably hand a debut to Lewis Baker and potentially Tyler Roberts on Tuesday night at Forest Green. The first pre-season game is just a couple of days away and Leeds are expecting to feature Chelsea loanee Jamal Blackman, which means an announcement will surely be tomorrow.

Phil Hay has confirmed that the plan is to play Jamal Blackman at some stage during the first pre-season game on Tuesday night. Blackman will probably get a half, as will Baily Peacock-Farrell as the number one place at Leeds United becomes as fierce a battle as we have seen for a few years. Popular Northern Ireland international Peacock-Farrell had a tremendous end to last season.

Blackman is set to be announced as a Leeds United player tomorrow at some stage with the player to take part in training under Marcelo Bielsa . He will become Leeds’ second summer signing after Lewis Baker, both loans and both from Chelsea. Leeds have seen ten players depart so far, a variety of transfers, loans, contracts ending and contracts being mutually terminated.

Leeds could actually hand debuts to more players. Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton could also feature in the game, in fact the probably will if fit. Yosuke Ideguchi is the fourth new signing that could make his debut. The Japan central midfielder has been put into first-team training along with the youngsters after starting with the under 23’s originally.

Leeds are close to another Championship player according to Phil Hay, as well as working on a Premier League loan player. Moving fast hasn’t happened since the Bielsa arrival but things need to pick up quickly, the countdown to the season is on, pre-season games are just 48 hours away. The games then come thick and fast with trips to Guiseley, York City, Southend and a home game against Las Palmas to round things off.
