Hull City keen on signing Sturm Graz midfielder

Hull City are interested in signing Sturm Graz midfielder Philipp Sittsam, according to Sky Sports’ Austrian journalist Johannes Hofer on Twitter.

The 19-year-old has been a regular for Sturm Graz II, which is their B team, over the past two seasons and could be rewarded with a move to Championship side Hull City.

Sittsam is highly-rated by the Austrian giants and is being tipped for a big future in the game. However, they could lose him already in this transfer window with the Tigers looking ready to lure him to the KCOM Stadium.

Hull boss, Nigel Adkins, has been busy bolstering his squad ahead of their upcoming Championship campaign. He has opted to sign young and hungry players and signed three players last week. Reece Burke, Jordy de Wijs and David Milinkovic all joined the club from West Ham United, PSV and Genoa respectively.

The Tigers have not finished there and they are hoping to get deals done for Sheffield United’s George Long and Scunthorpe United’s Conor Townsend next week. Sturm Graz’s Philipp Sittsam is a new name to be linked with Hull but it is more likely that he will be an addition to their Under-23’s squad rather than the first-team at this moment in time.

Hull have got some promising young talents in their Under-23’s and the likes of Daniel Batty and Brandon Fleming are expected to be in Nigel Adkins’ first-team plans next season. Sittsam could be brought into the youth ranks at Hull and is a name for their fans to keep an eye on in the future.
