QPR in seventh heaven after 7-0 win over Staines Town

QPR are in seventh heaven after they beat Staines Town 7-0 in a pre-season friendly.

The theme of QPR’s pre-season friendly so far has been goals and lots of them. They opened up their pre-season with a 3-3 draw against Charlton Athletic before following that up with a 3-0 win over Barnet. But this is most likely going to be their biggest win of pre-season so far.

It took until the 19 minute mark for the first goal to happen but after that it was like a hurricane. That first goal came when Giles Phillips headed in from a corner and it was 2-0 just a few minutes later when David Wheeler was able to finish off a nice move with a better finish. Just two minutes after that goal, Aramide Oteh was taken down in the box and he was able to step up and score the spot kick.

And the goals just kept on coming. Wheeler showed his talent with another goal and before the first half could end Bright Osayi-Samuel scored a great goal when he was able to turn the defender before beating the goalkeeper with an impressive strike.

In the second half, things quietened down but QPR were still able to add to their tally. They got another penalty when Idrissa Sylla was fouled in the box and much like Oteh, he stepped up to score the resulting spot kick. And number seven went in when Osman Kakay tackled the goalkeeper and was able to easily score after that.

QPR’s next match will be against Hoffenheim on the 21st July. Their Sky Bet Championship opener will be against Preston North End.
