West Bromwich Albion knew that they would lose some of their key players this summer following their relegation from the Premier League, but the fans will be happy with who they have kept hold of so far.
Nacer Chadli is one player that had been strongly linked with a move away, but before the FIFA World Cup started, Baggies fans had been hopeful that they would be able to agree a new deal for the Belgium star.
However, Chadli has seriously impressed in Russia for Belgium, helping them to the Semi-Finals, where they will take on France.
In fact, his performances have been so good that he has attracted the attention from a team that will be hoping he under performs in tonight’s (July 10) Semi-Final.
French Ligue 1 side Lyon are reportedly interested in securing Chadli’s signature according to a report from France Football.
Rumours have also appeared in the French media linking the club, who finished third in the league last season, with a move for the 28-year-old midfielder.
Obviously, Chadli is still in Russia, and any talks about his future are yet to take place, but he is expected to sit down with West Brom once he has returned from the FIFA World Cup.
Nacer Chadli joined West Bromwich Albion back in 2016 for a fee of £13 million, completing the move from fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
The 49 cap international struggled with injury last season, and was unable to make any more than five appearances as West Brom were relegated back to the Sky Bet Championship.
