There is a lot of dead wood within the Leeds United squad and there needs to be improvements. Here are two midfielders Leeds United should sign to improve their midfield
Andreas Pereira is a 22-year-old attacking midfielder who, despite his obvious talent, is yet to be given a break at Manchester United.
Andreas Pereira spent the whole of last season away on loan at Valencia CF in Spain where he made 23 appearances for the former Spanish giants. During this time, he scored one goal and picked up four assists. With creativity being a problem for this Leeds side last season a touch of Brazilian flair and creativity could be just what they need. Given he’s probably never going break into the Manchester United first team, Leeds United could probably get Pereira quite cheap.
Marco Grujic is a 22-year-old central defensive midfielder and a senior Serbian international player. Finishing runners up with Cardiff City, he won automatic promotion to the Premier League during a loan spell last season but hasn’t stuck around on the Welsh south coast.
The 22-year-old made 13 appearances for the South Wales based club during the second half of last season and managed to pick up a goal in a 2-1 win against Barnsley, who were relegated at the end of the season. He has since returned to Anfield but with Liverpool signing Nabi Keita, Gruijc has been pushed even further down the pecking order. He may be pushing for a permanent move away this season to really get his career going. The big stage of Leeds United and Elland Road would be perfect for him and his development.
