Leeds United edge “closer and closer” to signing big name striker

TalkSport have reported that the Italian press have suggested that Felipe Caicedo’s proposed move from Lazio to Leeds United has edged “closer and closer” with the Italian side seemingly quite keen to offload the Ecuadorian to the Championship.

Caicedo has featured for the likes of Manchester City, Espanyol, FC Basel and Sporting CP in his career and he could be set to open up the next chapter of his career with Leeds United.

The Ecuadorian forward supposedly has no issue with linking up with the Championship club and is seen as surplus to requirements in Rome at the Italian side who finished 5th in Serie A last season.

The striker is supposedly keen on a move back to England after getting a taste for English Football during a spell he had at Manchester City around a decade ago and a move to Leeds United would give him a chance of getting back into the Premier League as a leading frontman for an English side.

Given the fact that Bielsa has been appointed as the boss of Leeds United, fans expected a number of high profile signings and it appears that Caicedo could be set to become the next big thing for the West-Yorkshire club, should the Whites make an offer for the Ecuadorian striker.

Bielsa is thought to favour a powerful, expansive, attacking team and after rumours that the West-Yorkshire club have been in for a number of strikers, they could be set to bring in their first if it’s true that Caicedo is to swap Lazio for Leeds.
