Leeds United signing discusses meeting the fans

Leeds United have not been as busy as their fans would have liked in the transfer market so far, but in Lewis Baker they have a top quality player who is capable of making a difference at this level.

The young central midfielder joined the club on a season long loan deal from Premier League side Chelsea, and he arrives at Elland Road with a lot of expectation on his back.

Last night gave Whites supporters their first chance to see their new signing, as the club hosted a special signing session at Trinity Leeds.

Pablo Hernandez, Ronaldo Vieira, Samuel Saiz and Lewis Baker were the four players that attended, and the latter was impressed with the vibes he got from the Leeds United fans.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the 23-year-old said: “It’s been great coming into the city today to meet some of the Leeds fans for the first time. I’ve been told by all of the players how passionate the fans are so it was a good opportunity for me to see that for myself and get the chance to look around the new shop.”

“It’s been a really good first week at the club for me and I can’t wait for the season to start and especially for my first game at Elland Road.”

Baker was the first of what is expected to be an array of new faces through the door at Leeds United this summer. He was quickly followed by young defender Leif Davis, who will join up with the under 23 squad for the 2018/19 campaign.
