Hull City set to sign Italian Serie A winger

Hull City are set to sign Genoa winger Manuel Milinkovic, according to Inside Futbol.

The 24-year-old has been the subject of interest from Championship sides Reading and Ipswich Town but it looks like the Tigers have won the race for him. Milinkovic spent last season on loan at Hearts in the Scottish Premier League.

Hull are also close to landing PSV defender Jordy de Wijs, who was reportedly having medical today in East Yorkshire ahead of his proposed move from the Dutch Eredivisie champions. The Tigers have also been linked with Scunthorpe United left-back Conor Townsend and Yeovil Town’s Tom James.

Milinkovic is a deal that Hull will want to get done before they head off to Portugal for pre-season training and friendlies against Maritimo and Braga. The report from Inside Futbol suggests a move could be concluded in the next 24 to 36 hours.

The French-born winger started his career in France with Cannes before moving to Serbia in 2011. Milinkovic had spells at Red Star Belgrade, Rad and BASK Beograd prior to making the switch to Italy in 2015 to join Ternana.

A further stint at Salernitana followed before signing for Genoa in 2016. However, since then Milinkovic has been shipped out on loan to Virtus Lanciano, Messina, Foggia and Hearts. He played 24 games in the Scottish Premier League for Hearts last season and managed 6 goals.

Milinkovic would be a decent signing for Hull as they are in need of some reinforcements. He would provide their manager, Nigel Adkins, with more options going forward.
