Sheffield Wednesday midfielder George Boyd is back to full fitness ahead of the new season and believes that he will be back to his best for the new campaign.
The 32 year old manged just 25 appearances last season after injury restricted him.
After an injury crisis in the Wednesday camp, manager Jos Luhukay requested that Boyd filled in at left back, a position that he is unfamiliar with.
However, he believes that he’ll be back in midfield next campaign and back to his best form.
Speaking to the Sheffield Star, he said: “It was the most frustrating season I’ve had in all my career with the injury and coming back and playing somewhere I don’t really enjoy in left wing back.
“I think the manager knows I don’t like playing there (wing back) but I will play anywhere for the good of the team. With the injuries we had last season, it was where I had to do a job.
“But I don’t think you will see the best of me until I play in the position that suits my attributes. Hopefully I get a chance to play in my proper position and show the fans what I’m about.”
Boyd will be hoping to help Wednesday push for the Playoffs after they disappointed last season and finished in the bottom half of the Championship.
