Norwich City forward set to depart for Scottish Premier League

Norwich City forward Steven Naismith is set to join Hearts again on loan, according to the Daily Record.

The 31-year-old spent the latter part of last season on loan at the Scottish Premier League outfit and scored 4 goals for them in 16 games under former Scotland boss Craig Levein.

Naismith’s long-term future at Norwich City has been in doubt this summer and it appears his future now lies in his native Scotland. He has fallen down the pecking order with the Canaries ever since the appointment of Daniel Farke as manager last summer.

He started his career at Kilmarnock and played over 100 games for them before he was snapped up by Rangers in 2007 for around £1.9 million. Naismith became a big player for the Scottish giants and spent five years at Ibrox, winning the Scottish Premier League three times and the League Cup twice.

Naismith left Rangers during their financial woes in 2012 and moved to Premier League side Everton on a free transfer. He was a popular man at Goodison Park and spent three-and-a-half years there before he was snapped up by Norwich in January 2016.

He could not prevent the Canaries from relegation in his first season at the club and  played 48 games for the Carrow Road side before being shipped out to Hearts last season. That will be his home again next season and it will be interesting to see how he gets on.
