Three players Scunthorpe could sign to replace Habeeb Adelakun

After the departure of Habeeb Adelakun to Bristol City, Scunthorpe manager Nick Dawes now needs to find a replacement for him this summer. Here are three players that the Iron could look to sign to fill the void left by their star man:

Gboly Ariyibi, Nottingham Forest – The USA international would be a perfect replacement for the outgoing Adelakun. Like the former Scunthorpe winger, Ariyibi has bags of pace that could trouble any defence in League One. He is no stranger to third tier football, having split his time between MK Dons and Northampton on loan last season. Forest have expressed their desire to send him out on loan again ext season, and Glanford Park could be a suitable destination for him.

George Thomas, Leicester City – The Leicester City man will be in need of first team football next season and Scunthorpe should look to take him on loan. The former Coventry City wide man helped the Sky Blues lift the Checkatrade Trophy last season, as well as finishing as the clubs top scorer. He has spent most of his career at The King Power in the U23 squad, but has featured on the bench on a couple of occasions in the Premier League. He’d be a fantastic fit for Scunthorpe next season.

Kadeem Harris, Cardiff City – Harris has struggled with injuries throughout his career, but a solid run of matches could see him hit his peak. The winger has struggled to establish himself in the Cardiff City squad and with the Bluebirds promotion to the Premier League, it is unlikely he will see first team football next season. Scunthorpe could be a great place for the pacy wide man to reignite his career.
