Swansea City striker set for move to Turkey

Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony is set to move to Turkish giants Besiktas on a season long loan deal, according to The Mirror.

It is understood that the Welsh club tried to offload the Ivorian striker to a number of Premier League sides, but there was no interest from the top tier.

Bony has now held talks with Besiktas as he looks to push through a move which sees him depart the Liberty Stadium.

Bony rejoined the Swans last summer on transfer deadline day, agreeing a two year deal with the Welsh club.

Swansea paid £12m for his services in the hope that he could provide the goals needed to save them from the drop.

However, he managed just 2 goals last season and was restricted to just 15 appearances in the Premier League.

He had failed to hit the heights he had previously hit during his first spell at the club.

During Bony’s first spell at Swansea, the striker hit 26 goals in 54 appearances but was sold to Manchester City for a fee of £28m after two successful years with the Swans.

He would be a big asset for Graham Potter in the Championship next season, but as one of Swansea’s highest earners, Potter wants to get him off the wage bill.

He has been capped by the Ivory Coast on 52 occasions, scoring 15 goals for his National side.

Bony looks set to depart the club this summer with Besiktas leading the race for his signature, and the Championship side could recoup just £3m for the year to get high-earner Bony off their  wage bill.
