“It’s exciting times” – Leeds United striker looking forward to the season ahead

With new manager Marcelo Bielsa at the helm at Elland Road, there is an heir of expectation around Yorkshire. Whites forward Kemar Roofe will be looking to carry on his good form from last year and believes that there is exciting times ahead for Leeds United.

The attacker believes that the addition of such a high profile manager in Bielsa can only benefit the club next campaign.

Roofe bagged 14 goals for United last season, as well as registering 4 assists, but he was unable to help them make a push for the Playoffs.

The Whites made their first signing of the summer transfer window yesterday with the addition of Lewis Baker on loan from Chelsea.

Roofe is now looking forward to getting the season going as Leeds begin their pre season training.

Speaking to the club website, he said: “Everyone wants to be playing games and everyone is really looking forward to the first game against Stoke City.

“It is always going to be difficult, it is pre-season and that is what it is there for.

“Nobody likes it, but you have to do it, it is part of the game and hopefully the fitter we get, the better we will play.”

After the departure of Paul Heckingbottom, Roofe believes that the arrival of Bielsa will bring the good times back to Elland Road.

“It’s exciting times, it is a big statement with a very high profile manager coming in with his staff and everyone is excited to get started and learn his way of playing.” He said.

The former Premier League giants will be hoping that Roofe can replicate his form again next season under Bielsa, ad help bring winning ways back to Elland Road.
