Millwall

Three players Millwall should sign this summer

After a stunning second half of the season last campaign Millwall narrowly missed out on a Playoff Place come the end of the season. Here are three players that the Lions should sign in order to replicate last seasons success:

Aiden McGeady, Sunderland – The Irish international suffered relegation with Sunderland last season, but he has the ability to keep playing in the second tier. After Ben Marshall opted to move to Norwich, Millwall will be without one of their key figures next season, but McGeady could provide an astute acquisition on the left side of midfield. He scored 7 goals and assisted on 5 occasions last campaign and would be a smart signing by Lions boss Neil Harris as they look to push for the Playoffs once more.

Marc McNulty, Coventry City – The Scotsman lit up League Two last season, notching 25 goals in the league. He currently has one year left on his existing deal at the Ricoh Arena and Coventry could cash in on him this summer, instead of losing him on a free next year. He scored 2 goals in the Playoffs as he helped the Sky Blues win promotion back to League One at the first time of asking. Reading have already had two bids turned down for the striker, but this is a Millwall side lacking in goals and should test the Midlanders resolve this summer.

Graham Carey, Plymouth Argyle – Carey has continued to impress at Plymouth ever since the clubs promotion to League One. The Scot notched 14 goals last season, as well as contributing 12 assists. The midfielder was a huge influence on how the Pilgrims went from relegation candidates to promotion hopefuls last time and out and would fir right in with the Lions squad. Despite entering the latter stages of his career, Carey would be a solid addition for Millwall next campaign.
