Norwich complete signing number four

Norwich have beaten Millwall to the signing of Ben Marshall.

The club announced the signing of Marshall at 2pm. Ben Marshall joins the Canaries on a four year deal from Wolves after spending last season on loan at Millwall. Norwich beat the Lions to the signing of Marshall after improving on Millwall’s £1.5m bid.

Millwall looked set to seal the signing of the former Blackburn winger after he had a successful campaign at The Den on loan from parent club Wolves. Marshall scored 3 goals and assisted 6 in 22 Championship appearances for the London club. He can also operate at as a right back.

Norwich manager Daniel Farke made it clear he was overjoyed with his 4th coup of the window. Farke said “I’m very pleased. We made it clear it’s necessary for us to improve the squad.”. The arrival of Marshall is vital for the Canaries. Josh Murphy and Marley Watkins have joined Cardiff City and Bristol City respectively. Yanic Wildschut – linked with Wigan Athletic – is also set to leave Carrow Road.

Marshall also expressed his joy at joining Norwich. The 27 year-old said “The club is massive and it’s a good feeling to sign”. He went on to say how former team mates John Ruddy, Ryan Bennett and Grant Hanley were influential in his decision to join the East Anglians. He said they “spoke really highly” of the club.

The signing is Norwich’s 2nd of the day, after signing Teemu Pukki from Danish side Brondby.

Marshall has become Norwich’s fourth signing of the window, joining Moritz Leitner, Teemu Pukki and Emi Buendia.
