Leeds United confirm their first signing under Marcelo Bielsa

Leeds United have tweeted to confirm that they will be retaining young Polish goalkeeper Kamil Miazek ahead of the new season.

The ex-Feyenoord youth goalkeeper has signed fresh terms with Leeds United ahead of the new season which shows they’ve been impressed with the keepers’ development during last season.

The Whites new Head Coach Marcelo Biesla looks set to bring in a number of new players during his reign and has bee scrutinizing the transfer targets that he wants to bring to West-Yorkshire ahead of the new season.

Miazek will continue to develop as part of Leeds United’s Under 23 squad for this season but if he continues to develop, he may even make an appearance or two in the cup for Leeds United.

The keeper has a cap for Poland’s under-19’s international side and at only 21 years of age, he will be hoping to make huge progress with the West-Yorkshire club.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been linked with both David Stockdale and Angus Gunn during this transfer window and its widely expected they will move to bring in a new number one ahead of this season with young keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell to be used as back-up the West-Yorkshire club.

If the Whites do make a move to bring either Stockdale or Gunn – or another target to Elland Road, it’s quite likely that they could look to potentially loan out Miazek to a League One or Two side to help the goalkeepers development.
