It’s loan deal but there is an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the 2018-19 season, if Nottingham Forest decide to do so.
Gil Bastiao Dias has become the fourth signing of the summer for Nottingham Forest, joining Michael Dawson, João Carvalho and Diogo Gonçalves.
Carvalho, 21, played eight games for Benfica in 2017-18 and has signed a five-year contract at the City ground.
The loan deal for exciting winger Goncalves, also 21, includes an option to buy at the end of his loan spell.
Carvalho’s transfer fee eclipses Nottingham Forest’s previous record transfer fee, which was for striker Britt Assombalonga, who joined from Peterborough for £5.5m in August 2014.

It's becoming very hard to not get excited about @NFFC next season. I've been blindly optimistic and let down in the past, but these signings really make it feel different this time! #nffc
