“Thanks for the memories”- Swansea City fans react to Lukasz Fabianski’s departure

West Ham United have snapped up Swansea City goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

The Polish goalkeeper joined the Swans in 2014 from Arsenal and has since played exactly 150 games for them. His future at the Liberty Stadium has been in doubt following their relegation to the Championship and he has been offered a Premier League lifeline by West Ham.

Fabianski will be a big miss for the Swans after a solid four seasons between the sticks for them. The72 identified four potential replacements Swansea could sign yesterday. Their new manager, Graham Potter, will no doubt have his own goalkeeping targets in mind.

Fabianski, who is currently at the World Cup with Poland, started his career in Poland with spells at Lech Poznan and Legia Warsaw before he brought to England by Arsenal in 2007. The 33-year-old shot stopper played 78 games for the Gunners in his seven years there and won the FA Cup with them in 2014.

Swansea signed him on a free transfer when his contract at Arsenal expired and he turned out to be an inspired signing by them. Fabianski won their Player of the Year award last season despite their relegation.
