Nottingham Forest

OPINION: Could Nottingham Forest swoop for Ricardo Quaresma?

According to journalist Alan Nixon’s tweet, Jorge Mendes sees Nottingham Forest as his new Championship project and with this, it opens out the possibilities for any of his clients at Gestifute, his agency for a move to the East Midlands.

Given the fact that Wolves managed to somehow bring in Ruben Neves last season, a big money name who could move to Nottingham Forest could be the Portuguese winger, Ricardo Quaresma.

Quaresma is currently on World Cup duty with Portugal and has had a very exciting career, featuring for Barcelona, Chelsea, and Porto during his 566-game long career.

The winger is one of Mendes’ high profile clients and if Forest were to make an audacious move to sign the winger, it could really show that they mean business in the Championship this season.

With the winger currently 34, it would offer him another chance to play in England and also to start at a new chapter in his career after three years in Turkey with Besiktas.

Given the fact that the Euro’s won’t be for another two years, he wouldn’t need to play in a top division and worry about impressing for an international call-up and could work on trying to achieve promotion to the Premier League with Forest.

The exciting midfielder has played for some of Europe’s top clubs, he’s won the Champions League and also the European Championships. Although this would be an audacious move, he’d bring some top-quality back into the Championship and would be incredibly exciting to watch.
