Norwich City back in the race to sign German striker

Norwich City are back in for German striker Marvin Ducksch after his proposed move from St Pauli to Fortuna Dusseldorf fell through, according to the Eastern Daily Press.

Ducksch looked set to move to Dusseldorf but the two clubs could not agree on a fee with their valuations poles apart.

This has left the door open for the Canaries to try and sign the striker who now have £11m to spend after the departure of Josh Murphy to Cardiff City.

The Yellows found goals hard to come by last season and were heavily reliant on star man James Maddison to find the back of the net.

However, the England U21 International looks set to depart Carrow Road this summer and Daniel Farke has identified Ducksch as the man to fire Norwich to promotion next season.

The 24 year old came through the ranks at Borussia Dortmund and made 6 first team appearances for the German giants.

He spent last season on loan at Holstein Kiel where he notched 18 goals in 33 appearances during his time in Germany’s second tier.

His good form last season has seen his stock rise and he looked set to join Dusseldorf within the next few weeks.

That move now looks to have fallen through after Ducksch’s parent club St Pauli set an asking price of 3m Euros.

He has been capped at a number of different youth levels for the German National team, but has yet to break through in to the senior side.

After the sale of Josh Murphy and the impending departure of James Maddison, Norwich look set to undergo a rebuilding job under Daniel Farke this summer, and Marvin Ducksch could be the second new face through the door at Carrow Road this summer.
