Nottingham Forest keen on move for Luton Town left-back

Nottingham Forest are keen on a move for Luton Town left-back Dan Potts, according to the Nottingham Post.

The 24-year-old impressed for the Hatters in League Two last season and played a key part in their promotion to the third tier. They could now face a battle to hold onto him this summer.

Nottingham Forest in the hunt for some defensive reinforcements this summer. Armand Traore, who spent the latter part of last season on loan at Cardiff City, is set to leave them as well as Eric Lichaj, who is set to join fellow Championship side Hull City this week.

Aitor Karanka’s side have been linked with Aston Villa’s Alan Hutton and Hull’s Max Clark but Dan Potts is a new name to enter the frame. Wigan Athletic saw a bid rejected for him last month.

Potts started his career at West Ham and rose through the youth ranks there. He went onto play 13 games for the Hammers’ first-team and gained senior football experience during loan spells at Colchester United and Portsmouth.

He was released by West Ham in 2015 and joined Luton Town in League Two. He has been a key player for Nathan Jones’ side ever since but they will face a battle to hold onto him now.

Nottingham Forest are expected to be busy over the coming weeks with plenty of comings and goings likely to happen.
