Preston snap up Exeter City defender

Preston North End have today completed the signing of Exeter City defender Jordan Storey for an undisclosed fee.

The 20 year old has signed a four year deal with the Lillywhites.

The centre back broke in to Paul Tisdale’s side throughout the course of last season after he was the seventh choice defender at the beginning of the campaign.

His final game for the Grecians came in the League Two Playoff Final as Exeter lost 3-1 to Coventry City.

He graduated from Exeter City’s academy and made 17 appearances for the club last season, scoring two goals.

Storey has spent time on loan at Bideford, Tiverton, and Dorchester during his career but he will now be looking forward to playing in the second tier next season.

Preston finished in 7th place last season and narrowly missed out on a playoff place.

Alex Neil’s side conceded 48 goals last season, and Storey will be hoping that he can bring that number down during his time at Deepdale.

Speaking to the club website, Storey said: “It is a new challenge for me and I can’t wait to get started at a big club.

“I now want to learn as much as I can. The manager is going to mould me and build me into the best player that I can hopefully. It was nice to speak to him and to get to know him and I am looking forward to getting started.

“It is a cracking stadium and it is different to what I have been playing in regularly and I can’t wait to get started and show what I am about.”

Preston will be hoping to go one better and reach the Playoffs next season and the signing of Storey will help sure up the North End defence.
