Leeds United preparing to offload two players in near future

Leeds United completed their first sale of this summer earlier today, with Spanish midfielder Madgar Gomes sealing a move to French Ligue 2 side FC Sochaux.

Gomes only joined the club last summer, signing on a free from Champions League finalists Liverpool, but he failed to make a real impact, and he has now been moved on.

That poses the question for Leeds United fans; who is next?

In fact, someone tweeted that question to Phil Hay, who is the Leeds United writer for the Yorkshire Evening Post, and his answer will please some Leeds fans.

Here is a look at his response to the question: “Who is next out of the door?”

As you can see, Phil Hay has hinted that the sale of strikers Marcus Antonsson and Pawel Cibicki could both be imminent.

Both have fallen out of favour at Elland Road, and are expected to move on this summer.

Swedish forward Marcus Antonsson spent the 2017/18 campaign on loan at Sky Bet League One side Blackburn Rovers, helping the Lancashire club achieve automatic promotion back to the second tier of English football, and Rovers are reportedly interested in signing him permanently.

Cibicki has not featured for several months now, but was pictured watching Legia Warsaw last month, sparking rumours that he was out for talks with the Polish champions.

Those claims were originally rubbished, but Legia Warsaw are reportedly interested in signing him.

The departure of these two out of favour strikers could leave the door open for a new signing to come in, with Abel Hernandez, Matej Vydra and Jack Marriott ALL linked with a move to Elland Road.
