Earlier today, the72 reported that Leeds United had completed their first piece of business this summer, with Spanish youngster Madgar Gomes leaving the club a year after he joined originally.
Gomes moved to Elland Road on a free transfer from Champions League finalists Liverpool, and was one of the first signings under director of football Victor Orta.
But his time at the Yorkshire club is now over, as he has moved to France to join Sochaux.
Madgar Gomes arrived at Elland Road with plenty of help, and he impressed massively in pre-season, but was never really given the chance to show the fans what he could do, with a few cameo appearances in cup competitions being his only first team action.
Gomes showed in his few cup games that he is a capable player, and after signing a three-year-deal at Sochaux, he will hope to show the footballing world exactly what he can do.
He may not have been in the first team picture at Elland Road, but that didn’t stop Leeds United fans from taking to Twitter after news of Gomes’ departure broke.
Here is a look at what some of them had to say:
At least Madgar Gomes will stay in the memory of some Leeds United fans.

This Leeds supporter was actually a fan of Gomes, but understands his decision to leave the club.
Actually rated Gomes. Looked good in U23 games. Oh well, guess he wanted some first team football? #lufc

This is expected to be the first of many departures from Leeds United this summer as they await the appointment of their new manager.
You'd think Madger Gomes will be followed by others, especially if Bielsa becomes the new head coach. #lufc
