Fulham chasing Bristol City defender

Bristol City left back Joe Bryan is on the radar of Premier League new boys Fulham, according to The Mirror.

The Cottagers recently lost Ryan Fredericks to fellow Londoners West Ham United, and Slavisa Jokanovic is keen to bolster his options at full back.

Joe Bryan was ever present for the Robins in their superb Championship campaign, as well as playing a starring role in their impressive Carabao Cup run.

The diminutive defender has come through the ranks at Ashton Gate, making 202 league appearances for his boyhood club.

He has spent two spells away from the club on loan at Bath City and Plymouth Argyle.

Last season Bryan made 43 appearances for City, scoring three goals, helping them to an 11th placed finish.

He has firmly established himself as Lee Johnson’s number one left back and his manager will be desperate to keep hold of him this summer.

The emergence of Ryan Sessegnon has been a major factor in Fulham’s promotion this season.

The teeager started off the season at left back but has moved further up the pitch as the season progressed.

Fulham also drafted in Matt Targett on loan from Southampton last season, but the 22 year old has now returned to his parent club in the south coast.

This leaves Fulham with no recognised left back at the club and they have now turned their attentions to Joe Bryan in an attempt to solve this.

After his impressive season last campaign it is now suprise that there is interest in Bryan. Bristol City’s resolve is sure to be tested during the summer window.
