“Kick in the teeth”- Hull City fans react to Abel Hernández’s potential move to Leeds United

Abel Hernández is edging closer to a move to Championship side Leeds United on a free transfer, as reported by The72.

The 27-year-old striker has turned down a contract offer from Hull City in favour of a move away from the KCOM Stadium. The likes of Newcastle United and Celtic have been linked with him, but it appears that Leeds United are in pole position to land him.

He has been a key player for Hull City over the past four seasons and will be a miss to Nigel Adkins’ side. He scored 39 goals in 111 games in all competitions for the Tigers in his time there.

Hernández moving to Leeds would be a tough one to take for Hull fans. It also shows the decline of the Tigers in recent times as they are losing their one-time record signing for nothing. This will only fuel the animosity against the owners, the Allams, and their fans will be demanding answers and new signings this summer.

Hull have already lost Allan McGregor to Rangers, Michael Dawson to Nottingham Forest and the likes of Hernández, Max Clark, Seb Larsson and Moses Odubajo are expected to follow. Out of Hull’s 2016 Championship promotion squad, only Odubajo remains at the club now and he is out of contract at the end of the month.

Here is how Hull City fans have reacted to the news on Twitter that Abel Hernández could be on his way to Leeds United-
