Wolves face heavy competition for AC Milan star

According to the Birmingham Mail, Wolves are set to face stiff competition from Premier League Huddersfield Town to secure the signature of AC Milan striker Andre Silva.

Silva moved to AC Milan after a highly successful time leading the line for Porto in which he managed to score 17 goals in 41 games for the Portuguese club. The striker then went on to move to Italy for around £34 million in 2017 before attracting interest from Wolves and several other clubs.

The move has reportedly been helped by Jorge Mendes who has been an intermediate party within talks between the Italian and English club although the Birmingham Mail additionally suggest that Monaco are also interested in securing the signature of the striker.

Huddersfield Town will be looking to cement their place in the Premier League this season after securing survival last season with a point away at Stamford Bridge but with Wolves’ spending power and desire to make an immediate impact in the Premier League this season, you’d think that if Wolves want to land Silva, they will.

AC Milan are reportedly only wanting around £27 million for Silva who has scored 12 goals in 22 appearances for Portugal and will be traveling to Russia in the coming weeks for the forthcoming World Cup.

If Silva can make a move to Wolves, he will be a fantastic acquisition for the newly promoted side and he will offer some more strength up front alongside Benik Afobe who recently signed at Molineux for a fee thought to be around £12.5 million.
