Presenting the inside scoop on the latest Football League news

Middlesbrough, Stoke, West Brom and Aston Villa have low odds on signing Premier League Winner

According to SkyBet, Middlesbrough, Stoke, West Brom, Aston Villa and Derby, amongst a number of other Football League clubs are thought to be in the running to sign ex-Premier League winner, Robert Huth from Leicester City.

eThe 33-year-old has been limited in terms of appearances during his time with Leicester this season and the Midlands club have decided to let the defender move away to new pastures. With a whole host of Championship clubs thought to be interested in bringing the defender in, it’s clear he’s not going to be short of employment before the start of the new season – although with Aston Villa and Derby County’s seemingly smaller budget, it could be harder to bring him to their respective clubs.

Huth was a Premier League winner in the 2015/16 Premier League season when he formed a solid central defensive partnership with Foxes Defender Wes Morgan to help Leicester City to their first ever Premier League title.

The German defender has been a long-term fixture in the top-flight with him enjoying most of his career in Stoke and there is still a chance that Huth could return to his former employers to help them get back into the Premier League at the first time of asking.

The upcoming Championship season is beginning to shape up to be incredibly competitive by the rights of transfer deals, with all the clubs seemingly keen to bring talent in early.

Huth would be a strong statement of intent for any Championship club, with his aerial presence and commanding authority and leadership at the back.

Current Odds (SkyBet):

Middlesbrough 2/1

Stoke City 3/1

Cardiff City 6/1

West Brom 8/1

Aston Villa 9/1

Derby 10/1
