Earlier today the72 reported that former Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard had been appointed as the new manager of Derby County.
Derby had been on the search for a new manager since their previous boss Gary Rowett decided to leave the club to join recently relegated Stoke, and they have wasted no time in bringing in Frank Lampard.
Although he has no managerial experience, Lampard is one of the most well-known games in English football, and there is no denying that he has earned the right to be called a football legend.
The fact that he is such a household name will only increase Derby County’s chances of signing top players, as there are very few players in the Football League that would not want to work under Lampard’s management.
The Rams announced the appointment early this morning (May 31), and Derby County fans were quick to take to Twitter to share their feelings on their new boss.
Here is a look at what a select few of them had to say:
This Derby fan acknowledges that the appointment of Lampard is a risk, but says that due to the failings of previous managers at Pride Park, it is a risk well worth taking.
Great appointment- big risk but all other managers have fallen short so far , so well worth the risk – new ideas, new vision and new players- #dcfc

I think the other 23 clubs may have something to say about this…
