4 let go by Coventry City following play-off triumph

Sky Bet League Two Play-Off winners Coventry City have today issued their retained list. On it, Mark Robins has decided to allow four players to depart their promotion-winning squad.

In addition to this, the Sky Blues remain in talks with a key defender over potentially extending with stay at the Ricoh Arena. Coventry have tied down another player to an extra season too. Robins is very much putting plans in place ahead of their Sky Bet League One campaign next season.

It would be fair to say that none of those to be moving on where necessarily key players last season, only squad players at best.

Devon Kelly-Evans featured the most last season, starting eight league matches. The 21-year-old featured 40 times for the club. Dion Kelly-Evans also moves on. The defender appeared in the 2017 Checkatrade Trophy Final, when they defeated Oxford United, but started once league match last season. Experienced winger Kyel Reid departs having been with the club for two years. He played 50 times in total for the Sky Blues, he started two in the league last season, playing a further 12 times as a substitute. Bilal Sayoud featured just once in the first-team, that coming last October in a Checkatrade Trophy match. He moves on in search of more regular football.

Club captain Michael Doyle played a major part in their campaign last season. The combative midfielder has seen his contracted extended by the club, having taken up an option to prolong it by a further year. Central defender Dominic Hyam is still in discussions over remaining a Coventry City player.
