Fulham striker reveals his footballing heroes

The most expensive game in football takes place tomorrow, as Aston Villa meet Fulham at Wembley in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final.

The game is worth at least £160 million to the winners, with that figure potentially rising to £280 million if they manage to survive their first season back in the Premier League.

Both sides know what is at stake, and will have been preparing all week as they prepare to compete for a spot in the Premier League following their victories in the Semi-Finals.

Aston Villa beat Middlesbrough 1-0 over two legs, with Mile Jedinak scoring the only goal of the tie in the first leg at the Riverside.

Fulham were beaten 1-0 by Derby County at Pride Park in the first leg, but an impressive performance in the return fixture saw them win 2-0, and go through 2-1 on aggregate.

Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic failed to score in the Semi-Finals, but he has played a huge role in Fulham’s successes this season since he joined the club on loan from Premier League side Newcastle United.

And the Serbian striker is enjoying his time at the Cottagers, and wants to take them back to the top flight.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: The way I play here is the way I want to play. I always looked at how Alan Shearer and Didier Drogba played, it was almost magic the way they used their body to score goals. Even now I watch some of their goals on YouTube to try and learn from them.”
