Championship clubs to battle it out for Nottingham Forest defender

Hull City, Bolton Wanderers, Bristol City and QPR are all interested in signing Nottingham Forest defender Eric Lichaj, according to the Nottingham Post.

The 29-year-old still has a year left on his contract at the City Ground but could be sold this summer. There is also believed to be interest from the MLS in him too.

Hull City are reportedly keen on bringing Lichaj to the KCOM Stadium over the coming months. The Tigers are set to lose Michael Dawson and Max Clark on free transfers and both have been linked with Nottingham Forest. Nigel Adkins could fill the void left by their potential departures by bringing in Lichaj.

However, Hull will have to face competition from Bolton, Bristol City and QPR for the Americans signature as he is set to be a man in demand.

Lichaj, who has 14 caps for the USA national team, moved to England in 2007 to join Aston Villa. He went onto play 42 games for the Midlands side as well as having loan spells at Lincoln City, Leyton Orient and Leeds United during his time at Villa Park. He signed for Nottingham Forest on a free transfer in June 2013. He has since played just under 200 appearances for the Reds.

Eric Lichaj is an experienced Championship defender and would be a shrewd signing by another second tier side this summer.
