In the recent days, the72 have reported that Leeds United have shown in interest in bringing in Liverpool’s young striker Harry Wilson in on loan next season after the youngster enjoyed a successful spell at fellow Sky Bet Championship side Hull City.
Early reports suggested that Leeds United faced competition from Premier League side Huddersfield Town and Scottish Premier League outfit Rangers, but now it seems that Aston Villa are also looking to bring Wilson in.
Aston Villa are preparing for this Saturday’s (May 26) Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final against Fulham, in what has often been described as the most expensive game in football. The winner will of course take their place in the Premier League.
Harry Wilson’s loan spell in the second tier at Hull City was a success, scoring seven goals in 14 games since joining the Tigers on deadline day in January. He also provided four goals for his team mates, but despite impressing, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to be looking to loan him out again this summer.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that Scottish side Rangers are favourites to bring Wilson in, most likely because Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is in charge at Ibrox. However, Leeds United will be hoping that Wilson wants to stay in England, and gain more experience of the English game.
Leeds United struggled massively in front of goal last season, and they are desperate to bring in a new front man this summer. Pierre-Michel Lasogga has returned to his parent club, whilst Caleb Ekuban and Pawel Cibicki failed to deliver after having signed for the club last summer.
