Crystal Palace and West Ham eyeing up Fulham defender

Crystal Palace and West Ham United are both interested in signing Fulham defender Ryan Fredericks this summer, according to FootballLondon.

Despite impressing throughout the season for the Cottagers and being named in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Year, the club are yet to agree a new deal with Fredericks, who joined the club from Bristol City.

Prior to his time at Fulham, the 25-year-old defender spent less than 30 days at Bristol City after having agreed a deal at Ashton Gate, and he returned to London for personal reasons.

He had originally moved to the South West to join Bristol City after leaving Tottenham Hotspur, where has had been on the books since 2010, but he failed to make a real impact on the first team and consequently spelt a lot of time away from the club on loan, enjoying spells at Brentford, Millwall and Middlesbrough.

Fredericks never really settled down anywhere until he arrived at Fulham in 2015. He has since gone on to play over 100 times for the club, and he will be desperate to take them to the Premier League.

Fulham are currently preparing for the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final against Aston Villa next Saturday (May 26), and a win could guarantee that Fredericks remains a Fulham player.

However, he has previously spoken of his desire to play in the top flight, so failure to earn promotion for the Cottagers could see a number of Premier League sides, including Crystal Palace and West Ham, make their move for the right-back.
