Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that McDonald is the 41st best player in the Football League. This is the first time he has been on this list.

There are a lot of Fulham players you can give credit to for their form in the second half of the season. It’s very likely that you are going to see some of them later on in this list as well. But one player you shouldn’t forget is McDonald who was a key player for them in the midfield throughout the season. He has always been a great player, both Sheffield United and Wolves fans can attest, but he took it to another level by running many of the games they won this season.

Showing those concerns about his injuries are way in the past, he played most of the season, making 45 appearances. In that time he scored three goals and also got one assist. Teams such as Millwall, Barnsley and Burton Albion will be hoping that they never play against McDonald again after suffering against him this season. This was another great year for McDonald and he will be hoping to continue that.

McDonald’s season is not over yet. They will be facing Derby County in the second leg of the play-offs and will need to come back from a 1-0 deficit to go to the final.
