Leeds loanee appears to say goodbye to the club

Leeds United loanee Pierre Michel Lasogga has appeared to say a final goodbye to the club after spending the season in Yorkshire on loan from Hamburg.

The big centre forward posted a picture of him and his family at Leeds/Bradford airport with the caption ‘Goodbye’.

The post was taken at the same time the Leeds squad were playing their second friendly in Myanmar.

Lasogga joined the club last summer on a season long loan deal, and has registered ten goals in a Leeds United shirt.

The German has played 31 times under Thomas Christensen and Paul Heckingbottom.

He has failed to really settle at Elland Road and looks set to return to Germany next season, whether that be with Hamburg or another club.

In an interview with Sky Germany last summer, the striker told of his willingness to play in the Premier League at some point during his playing days.

“Maybe a childhood dream will come true, I’m still a player at Hamburger SV and will see what happens in the summer.” He said.

However, he won’t be helping the Whites to mount a promotion push next campaign as he does not feature in Paul Heckingbottom’s plans for next season.

Lasogga has made 96 appearances for Hamburg in Germany’s top flight.

He has scored 26 goals during his time with the Bundesliga club, and he’ll be hoping to kickstart a second spell with the Blues after his loan move in England.

With Lasogga’s departure all but confirmed, it opens the door for a new striker to fill the goalscoring void at Elland Road next season.
