Former Fulham midfielder betting on Aston Villa in the Playoffs

Former Cottagers midfielder Jimmy Bullard has predicted that Aston Villa will be promoted via the Playoffs, despite his old employers Fulham being involved in the four team tournament.

Despite the outcome of the Playoffs, Bullard predicts that we will be seeing Ryan Sessegnon in the top tier, even if its not with Fulham.

The former midfielder made 39 appearances for Fulham, scoring six goals during his time at Craven Cottage.

On his blog, on BetBright, Bullard said “The playoffs are brutal: it’s agony for one side and ecstasy for the other,

“I want my old side, Fulham, to go up – but I actually think Villa are most likely to go up simply because players like JT [John Terry] and Snods [Robert Snodgrass] are conditioned to these scenarios and can deal with the pressure of the play offs.

“But regardless of whether Fulham get promoted, I think we’ll be seeing young Ryan Sessegnon in the Premier League next season.

“If it doesn’t happen for Fulham over the next few weeks I can see him going to a big club in the summer which will be great for him, of course.”

Bullard joined the London club for £2.5m in 2006 from Wigan.

He spent three years at Craven Cottage, but doesn’t believe that his former club will be triumphant in the Playoffs.

They lost to Derby County in the first leg of their tie on Friday night, as a sole Cameron Jerome goal was enough to separate the two.

The Cottagers host Derby on Monday, and will be hoping to overturn the deficit they suffered at Pride Park.
