Leeds United favourites to sign 6ft Premier League striker

Leeds United are the bookies’ favourites to sign West Ham United striker Jordan Hugill.

Bet Victor have given the Yorkshire Club odds of 8/1 to sign the Middlesbrough born front man, who is yet to hit it off since moving to the Premier League.

Hugill joined the Hammers from Sky Bet Championship side Preston North End in January, costing David Moyes’ side a reported £10 million.

Since joining the London club, Hugill has made just three appearances, all of these coming as a substitute, and he is believed to be surplus to requirements, with a number of attackers reported to be ahead of him in the pecking order at the London Stadium.

On their books, West Ham United have the likes of Javier Hernandez, Marco Arnautovic and Michael Antonio, all of whom are preferred to Jordan Hugill by David Moyes.

Considering he has not featured very much for the first team, it is difficult to see how match fit Hugill would be, and because of that it may be difficult for the Hammers to receive a similar fee to what they paid for him.

However, since he was a recent purchase, David Moyes may hold out until they receive an offer in the region of £10 million.

A number of clubs have been linked with a move for the former Preston man, with the 25-year-old attracting interest primarily from second tier clubs.

Reading, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United are all given short odds, whilst recently relegated West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City are also mentioned.
