Top 20 Managers of the EFL – 2nd: Neil Warnock (Cardiff City)

Cardiff City head coach Neil Warnock has been voted by you as the 2nd best manager in the EFL.

Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have found that you think Warnock is the 2nd best manager in the Football League. He has moved up 18 places from his 20th place finish on the Top 20 Managers countdown last season.
Warnock did well last season to make sure Cardiff didn’t end up getting relegated to Sky Bet League One. After a season that definitely scared some Bluebirds fans, a season of consolidation was on the cards. Maybe if they were lucky they might get a shot of making it into the play-offs. But Warnock, who has got more promotions from the Sky Bet Championship than anyone can be bothered counting, decided to he wanted a bit more than that.
With the usual grit and drive that all of his teams have, Cardiff have been fighting right at the top of the table for the majority of the season. While they have dropped out of the top two at times, they have usually reclaimed their spot fairly quickly and for the longest time that automatic promotion spot looked like there’s. And it would be there’s with Cardiff sealing their place in the Premier League towards the end of the season.
Next season Warnock will make his return to the Premier League and this time he will want to make it a lengthy stay for himself and the Bluebirds.
