Wolves looking to sign three-time Premier League winner

Wolverhampton Wanderers have shown an interest in signing Manchester City legend Yaya Toure, according to the Mirror.

The Ivorian is leaving the Premier League champions this summer, after making 229 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 62 goals for the Citizens.

Toure is a legend at Manchester City, and he helped them to their first ever Premier League title back in 2012, as well as lifting the trophy with the Manchester club in 2014. This season’s success will be his third Premier League winners medal, but his time at the club is over, and he is looking to move on.

Reports in recent days suggest that he wants to remain in the Premier League, despite receiving a number of offers from countries all around the world.

Recently promoted Wolves are among the top flight teams said to be interested, and The Mirror reported that Nuno Santo would be willing to pay Yaya Toure’s huge wage of £220,000 a week to bring him to Molineux.

The Black Country club are looking to bring in a number of experienced players this summer as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.

Portuguese boss Santo lifted the Sky Bet Championship title in his first season with Wolves, leading them to an impressive 99 points, and now he faces the task of putting together a squad capable of competing in the Premier League.

Yaya Toure would be a class signing for Wolves, but it certainly will not be easy, with the 100-cap international attracting interest from other Premier League sides such as Burnley and Everton.
