Five Premier League free agents Championship clubs could sign – defenders

As the season draws to a close, so are a lot of players’ contracts.

For these players, it’s a worrying time, as they wait to see whether they will be given a new deal, or whether they will be leaving the club.

In this small little series, we take a look at five current top flights players in each position that could be without a club this summer, and could potentially drop down a league to the Sky Bet Championship.

Let’s take a look at five defenders we could potentially see in the second tier next year!

5) Curtis Good –

Curtis Good arrived in England back in 2012 and was billed as the next big thing for Newcastle United. It is fair to say that things have not worked out, and Curtis Good will be on his way out of the North East club. That being said, he still does have a lot to offer. The central defender could be an excellent signing for a second tier club once he has regained some match fitness, as his last competitive appearance game in last season’s FA Cup.
