Millwall chasing Leicester City midfielder

Sky Bet Championship side Millwall are keeping an eye on Leicester City midfielder Dylan Watts, according to reports coming out of Ireland.

The Irish Sun reports that the midfielder has really impressed during his time on loan at Bohemians, and that Neil Harris’ side are monitoring him ahead of his return to England.

The midfielder’s contract expires at the end of the summer, and whilst the Foxes do have the option to extend it by a further year, it remains unclear as to whether or not they will do so.

The 21-year-old joined Leicester City back in 2015 from Irish side UCD for an undisclosed fee.

He struggled to make any sort of impact on the first team, and instead spent a year or so representing the Foxes’ Under 23 side.

Watts is still awaiting his debut for the senior side, but he has represented the U23s in competitive fixtures in the Checkatrade Trophy.

He was loaned back to his native Ireland on deadline day in January, and since then has impressed for Bohemians, scoring one goal in nine games.

Millwall have been one of the teams of the year so far in the Sky Bet Championship this season.

They won promotion from Sky Bet League One last season, beating Bradford 1-0 in the Play-Off final, but they have not looked back since then.

Heading into the final game of the season, Neil Harris’ side still have an outside chance of making the Play-Offs and playing for a place in the Premier League.
