Leeds United are in talks to sign Crusaders winger

Leeds United are in talks to sign Crusaders winger Gavin Whyte, according to Sky Sports.

The 22-year-old has been in fine form for the Crusaders this season in their Irish Premier League title triumph season and has scored 21 goals. Whyte was also named Ulster’s Footballer of the Year for this campaign.

He has had a number of Football League clubs after him but it appears that Leeds United are now in the driving seat in the race to sign him.

Leeds United will already be plotting potential signings for the summer as they look to improve their squad in the coming months in preparation for next season. They have had a poor season and will be hoping for better in the next campaign.

Paul Heckingbottom will be looking to bring in his own players to put his own stamp on his newly inherited squad. Gavin Whyte is a key target and this is a deal that they will want to get over the line as soon as possible.

Whyte, who was born in Belfast, rose up through the youth ranks at Crusaders and has caught the eye in recent years. He has had trials at Everton and Celtic during his time in Northern Ireland.

Gavin Whyte is obviously a promising talent and Leeds will be hoping to seal a deal for him. This would be an exciting signing for Leeds fans.
