Ipswich Town- Chris Coleman now the favourite for the job

Chris Coleman is now the 7/4 favourite for the Ipswich Town job on SkyBet.

He was sacked by Sunderland yesterday after the club’s relegation to League One but he could be back in the Championship next season with a move to Ipswich Town a possibility.

Ipswich are in the hunt for a new manager after Mick McCarthy left. Coleman now leads the way but other names such as Shefki Kuqi, Paul Hurst and Sol Campbell are also in the running for the vacant post.

Coleman’s time at Sunderland was unsuccessful and it is safe to say that he should not have taken on that impossible job. He deserves another chance in the Championship and he could prove to be a shrewd appointment by Ipswich if they opt for him. He is now available and will be a man in demand over the summer.

The 47-year-old did an outstanding job with Wales and took them to the Semi-Finals of Euro 2016 in France. He left them in November after they failed to qualify for the World Cup in Russia this summer and replaced Simon Grayson at Sunderland a few days later.

Coleman has also managed Fulham, Real Sociedad in La Liga, Coventry City and Greek side AEL. It will be interesting to see if Ipswich Town do go for him as their new manager in the coming weeks.
