Forest, Leeds, and Sheffield Wednesday keen on Peterborough ace

Nottingham Forest, Leeds, and Sheffield Wednesday are all keen on a summer move for Peterborough’s star man Jack Marriott, according to the Derby Telegraph.

Marriott joined the Posh at the start of this season from Luton on a four year deal, for an undisclosed fee.

The 23 year old has been in unbelievable form for United this campaign, netting on 27 occasions, as well as registering 5 assists.

He is currently the EFL’s top scorer across all three leagues and his superb form in his debut season at London Road hasn’t gone unnoticed.

The striker was nominated for the League One Player of the Season award, but he lost out to Blackburn midfielder Bradley Dack.

Despite spending a vast majority of time competing for a Playoff place this season, Peterborough have fallen away and Marriott’s goals haven’t been enough to guarantee Steve Evans’ side a place in the top six.

With the Posh playing in League One next season they may be resigned to losing their prize asset.

Speaking on the future of his player, Posh manager Steve Evans said “I’d be foolish not to want Jack Marriott in my team next season.

“But there is huge interest in a special talent and I trust the board to do what’s in the best interests of the club and of the player.”

He is still contracted at Peterborough for another 3 years, so it would take a big money offer to tempt United into accepting any sort of bid.

All three Championship clubs that have been linked have struggled for goals this season.

Marriott could make the step up and make a difference in the Championship next season.
