Five players Brentford should look to sign this summer

After narrowly missing out on the Playoffs this season, here are five players that the Bees should look to sign to help them get over the line next campaign.

Jack Marriott, Peterborough – After losing star striker Lasse Vibe to the Chinese League in February, the Bees never go a chance to replace their main man. Marriott has scored 27 times for the Posh this campaign and has been attracting interest from the Championship all season. Steve Evans wont let Marriott leave London Road unless it is a huge sum of money, so the Bees will have to get their cheque book out to secure the services of the most prolific striker in the EFL.

Erhun Oztumer, Walsall – Nicknamed ‘The Turkish Messi’, Oztumer has made quite an impression during his time in the Midlands. The midfielder has scored 29 goals in his two seasons with the Saddlers and has established himself as the star man at the Bescot Stadium. His contract is up in the summer and could be an astute acquisition on a free transfer.

Paddy McNair, Sunderland – The Irishman has been a glimmer of light in a treacherous season for the Black Cats. He has put in some impressive performances for Sunderland as well as popping up with some goals from the defensive midfield position. With relegation looming for the Wearsiders, McNair will want to keep playing in the Championship and Griffin Park could be his new home next season.

Axel Tuanzebe, Manchester United – Tuanzebe has found himself on loan at Aston Villa this season but has only managed 4 appearances for the Midlands club. Jose Mourinho is keen for his centre back to go out on loan again next season and Brentford should be interested. With Andreas Bjelland set to leave the Bees, Tuanzebe could be the perfect replacement.

Jarrod Bowen, Hull City – Hull have had a really poor first season back in the Championship. The breakout season of Jarrod Bowen has been a bright spark in a dismal campaign. Bowen has scored 13 goals from the left side of midfield and can be a useful option for Dean Smith’s men in their promotion push next season.
