Norwich City complete deal for former Liverpool and Huddersfield Town midfielder

Norwich City have completed the signing of Saul Milovanovic, according to the club’s official website.

The 17-year-old midfielder has signed a deal until June 2020 and will link up with the clubs’ development squad. He has been on trial over the past few weeks and has played for their Under-18s and their Under-23s and has done enough to earn a deal.

Norwich City’s academy manager, Steve Weaver, used to work at Huddersfield Town and he has used his contracts with the Premier League side to lure Milovanovic to Carrow Road. He has followed Jordan Thomas in swapping Yorkshire for East Anglia.

Saul Milovanovic played at Liverpool as a youngster but moved onto Huddersfield Town to improve his chances of playing regular football at youth level. The Terriers did make him available ahead of this summer and it was Norwich City who snapped him up the quickest.

Norwich fans will be happy to see them investing in their youth academy. Milovanovic is a promising talent and will be regular for the Under-23s in the next campaign and it will be interesting to see if he will get a look in in the first-team next season.

The Canaries boss, Daniel Farke, seems to like giving youngsters game time in their first-team. He has given the likes of Jamal Lewis and Todd Cartwell (now on loan at Fortuna Sittard) some playing time this season and Milovanovic could be next.
