Nottingham Forest, Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday to battle it out for Rangers goalkeeper

Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday to battle it out for Rangers goalkeeper

Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday are both keeping tabs on Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, according to the Scottish Sun.

Rangers are set to sign Hull City goalkeeper Allan McGregor and this has left Foderingham’s future at Ibrox in doubt. It has also alerted the attention of Championship duo Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday.

Both Forest and Wednesday will be seeking to bolster their goalkeeping options in the summer as they hope to improve next season as both of them have had a stuttering campaign this term.

Wes Foderingham is an option and he has been at Rangers since 2015 and has played over 100 games for the Glasgow giants. His contract there expires in 2019 but with McGregor making his return, Rangers could be prepared to cash in on Foderingham this summer.

He started his career at Fulham but never broke into the first-team at Craven Cottage. After an impressive loan spell at Bromley, he was snapped up by their London rivals Crystal Palace in 2010 but again struggled to break into their senior squad.

Foderingham had another loan spell at Bromley before stints at Histon, Boreham Wood and then Swindon Town in 2012. Swindon then made his move there permanent in January 2012. He played just under 200 games for the Robins before he was released in 2015.

He joined Rangers in the Scottish Championship and helped them get promoted in his first season. He has been there since 2015 but a move back to England could be on the cards this summer.
